Abbeywood Community School
Abbeywood Community School (ACS) as your Home Study Centre
We are firmly committed to our students and their development as learners and future leaders within our community.
The Abbeywood Community School Opened in 2010 after a £30 million investment. The Post 16 centre offers all of the partnership students, strong classroom teaching in new tailor made classrooms; with excellent facilities such as our ICT equipped study and a friendly common room.
All Abbeywood Post 16 students have a dedicated tutor, who over the full two years will provide pastoral care and support for a student's time at Abbeywood. Our pastoral care program involves regular mentoring sessions to guide our students during this important time in their lives.
The school also provides dedicated advice and guidance for future employment, independent living and university applications through a superb core programme. The aim is to equip our students with the core competencies needed for life after Post 16 in an exciting and innovative way. Ofsted describing the pastoral team as ‘’...raising students’ aspirations and successfully ensuring that most students progress successfully to higher education, training or employment”.
We are proud of all our students no matter which route they choose to take beyond their Post 16 studies. As part of the Concorde Partnership, we are delighted to welcome students taking some or all of their courses at Abbeywood Post 16 Centre.
