Progression Post 18
Higher Education, Apprenticeships, employment or Gap Years, the choice is yours. We offer a tailored programme of advice and support to match every student’s needs.
During the two years a student is with us, we will dedicate ourselves to building the opportunities they need in the competitive wider world. Whether its UCAS admissions to Oxbridge or Russell Group Universities, interview techniques or application forms, we care about our students’ future.
Student will regularly discuss and plan their future careers during their fortnightly tutorials and Core Programme Days. Students can consult with their tutor, our Post 16 Learning Mentor (who used to work for the Connexions careers service) and they also have access to an independent Careers Advisor if they need it.
We have supported hundreds of students with the difficult decision of what to do after they have finished their studies with us. The majority of students who leave the Concorde Partnership go on to university either directly after leaving Post 16 or following a gap year. In recent years students have won places at a range of different universities including Cambridge, Oxford, Durham, UCL, Cardiff and Bristol. Courses students have chosen to study have ranged across everything from English Literature, Chemistry and Medicine to Architecture, Computer Science, and Police and Criminal Justice Studies.
We understand that university is not the right destination for everyone; a significant number of our students have successfully applied for higher apprenticeships and have benefitted from our guidance with application forms and covering letters; most recently these include… an Engineering apprenticeship with Network Rail, a Business apprenticeship with the Crown Prosecution Service and a Technology apprenticeship with Everyone Everywhere.
